The Arabic language is the language of the Holy Quran and the Prophet Muhammad's Sunnah. It stands as a symbol of Arab-Islamic civilization, reflecting the essence of Arab identity, and it is considered  a source of pride for Arabs worldwide. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has long nurtured and preserved this language, with the Arabic Language Department playing a crucial role in promoting Arabic culture and fostering a sense of belonging among students.

Situated within the College of Education and Arts, the Arabic Language Department is dedicated to the enrichment and dissemination of the Arabic language. It strives to cultivate a deep understanding and appreciation of Arabic, preparing a skilled workforce capable of upholding the language's integrity in education and communication. By offering comprehensive programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, focusing on language and grammar as well as literature and criticism, the department aims to establish itself as a leading institution within the national and regional academic levels.

The department is keen to possess the tools that help it achieve its goals and mission by attracting national and Arab cadres with distinguished scientific and administrative expertise that support the department’s vision and achieve its mission. It also supports this through scientific scholarship programs inside and outside the Kingdom and motivates its members to conduct scientific research and participate actively in scientific conferences and seminars. This scientific activity is represented in holding weekly seminar sessions in the department, as well as introductory sessions on linguistic and literary heritage, as well as through its communication with linguistic and literary culture platforms in the Kingdom and the Northern Borders region in particular, especially the scientific partnership with the Cultural Literary Club in the Northern Borders region where members of the department and its affiliates give cultural and scientific lectures, as well as printing professors’ books and publications.
