Duties:
To fill out the NCAAA program description form, version 2018, including program graduates attributes that must be consistent with university graduates attributes, to complete the various consistency matrices of the guide of designing, developing and reviewing academic programs (pp. 53-56), and to review the learning outcomes, teaching strategies and assessment methods of the program.
To review the NCAAA course specifications forms, version 2018.
To make sure that the learning outcomes of each course and the program learning outcomes are correlated.
To meet the following requirements when completing the program descriptions, courses specifications and field experience forms:
The number of program learning outcomes should not exceed 15 outcomes. They should cover the three learning domains (knowledge, skills and competencies). The number of learning outcomes in the program is determined by the nature of the program itself (practical / theoretical / ...)
The number of course learning outcomes should range between 4-6 outcomes, depending on the nature and level of each course.
The professional requirements of the specialization should be taken into consideration.
The learning outcomes should be SMART (i.e., Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound)
Choosing the teaching strategies and assessment methods appropriate for the learning domains (knowledge, skills and competencies), which are in line with the program and course learning outcomes accurately, and using the Teaching and Learning Strategies and Evaluation Methods Guide of the Northern Border University.
Updating the learning resources in the courses' specifications, i.e., the year of publishing each reference should not be before 2015, and all references should be written in the APA style for all courses.
All minutes of committee meetings should be documented by the department.
After completing the program description and courses specifications, they will be internally reviewed by the Quality and Academic Accreditation Committee at the college level.
The program description and courses specifications will be sent to the University’s Internal Review Committee on Tuesday 28/7/1443 AH corresponding to 1/3/2022 AD for review; its reports will be sent to the colleges to do the necessary modifications suggested by the NBU Internal Review Committee.
After applying modifications, and documenting the minutes of the committee at the department level, the final version of the program description and courses specifications will be submitted to the Scientific Departments Councils and College Council for approval.
A copy of the minutes of the Scientific Departments Council and the College Council, and the approval of the University Rector, along with the program description and courses specifications, will be sent to the Permanent Committee of Systems and Study Plans at the university, and then submitted to the University Council for approval.
