The Department of Arabic Language is one of the largest departments within the college, established concurrently with the college in 1409 AH. Each year, the department continues to evolve, taking responsibility for teaching various Arabic language subjects across multiple disciplines. These include grammar, morphology, prosody, linguistics, language jurisprudence, literature, literary criticism (both ancient and modern), and Arabic rhetoric in its various forms.
The Department of Arabic Language has played a significant role in graduating numerous generations of students, many of whom have made substantial contributions to meeting the community's demand for teachers at the primary level and beyond. To achieve this, the department is committed to continuously improving its teaching, academic, and administrative methods by incorporating the latest modern technology. It also seeks to foster scientific communication and exchange experiences with similar departments both within and outside the Kingdom, ensuring it stays aligned with scientific and global advancements.
Additionally, the department has focused on hiring a group of teaching assistants and lecturers, providing them with opportunities to pursue master's and doctoral degrees in order to meet its primary goal with qualified national faculty members.

The Arabic language is the language of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah, embodying the Arab-Islamic civilization. It clearly represents the Arab identity and is a source of pride for Arabs over other nations. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has dedicated significant care and attention to the Arabic language, which is reflected in the active role of the Department of Arabic Language in promoting Arabic culture and fostering a sense of belonging among male and female students.
The Department of Arabic Language, part of the College of Education and Arts, works diligently to enhance the Arabic language and raise awareness about it. The department aims to fulfill the college's goals and mission by graduating qualified national professionals who can uphold the trust of the language in terms of understanding, teaching, and comprehension.
To achieve these objectives, the department offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programs in two tracks: language and grammar, and literature and criticism. The department aspires to be among the distinguished departments at both the national and regional levels. It is committed to acquiring the necessary tools to reach its goals by attracting national and Arab professionals with exceptional scientific and administrative expertise. This expertise supports the department's vision and helps accomplish its mission.
Additionally, the department promotes scientific scholarship programs inside and outside the Kingdom and encourages its members to engage in scientific research and actively participate in conferences and seminars. This commitment to scientific activity is illustrated through weekly seminar sessions and introductory workshops focused on linguistic and literary heritage, as well as by maintaining connections with platforms that promote linguistic and literary culture in the Kingdom, particularly in the Northern Borders Region.
We are an academic program that provides distinguished education; to prepare competencies with a high level of linguistic skills and research foundations in the Arabic language and literature to contribute to serving the community and meeting the needs of the labor market.

Description of each semester in the bachelor's stage:
Four years divided into eight levels including: The first year - (two semesters):
In which the student studies and learns the basics of literary sciences and the Arabic language, and the foundational courses in the branches of literature, grammar, language and rhetoric.
Second year (two semesters):
The student studies courses in Arabic language specializations such as: branches of literature, grammar, language and rhetoric, but at a higher scientific and temporal level, taking into account the artistic and historical development of these sciences.
Third year (two semesters):
The student studies courses at higher levels of specialization in Arabic language, in the branches of literature, grammar, language, rhetoric and criticism, and more attention is paid to acquiring linguistic, rhetorical, artistic and critical appreciation.
Fourth year (two semesters):
The student studies courses at higher levels of specialization in Arabic language, in the branches of literature, grammar, language, rhetoric, criticism and analysis, and more attention is paid to acquiring linguistic, rhetorical, artistic and critical appreciation, with more attention to openness to modern sciences and arts in the study of language, literature and rhetoric.
