Vice Dean’s Message:

The Vice Deanship for Academic Affairs represents one of the key pillars within the academic system of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Its roles and responsibilities contribute significantly to enhancing the educational process and achieving high quality outcomes that align with labor market demands and national development plans. The Vice Deanship is committed to supporting both faculty members and students by overseeing various academic units.

Through these units, the Vice Deanship strives to ensure the quality of academic performance, develop students’ capabilities, facilitate their educational journey, and provide the support and guidance that enable them to overcome challenges and achieve academic and professional excellence. It also works to monitor academic plans and programs, and to develop teaching and assessment methods in accordance with quality standards and academic accreditation requirements, thereby contributing to the preparation of qualified graduates capable of serving their country and society.

At the Vice Deanship for Academic Affairs, we believe that the student is at the center of the educational process. Our responsibility is to create a stimulating academic environment that fosters creativity and innovation and promotes a strong sense of belonging and commitment. We also place great emphasis on building effective partnerships between students and faculty members, and we continuously strive to develop programs and activities that contribute to shaping students’ personalities and enhancing their skills.

• Mission: The Vice Deanship for Academic Affairs seeks to oversee the development and implementation of academic programs in accordance with quality standards and academic accreditation requirements, enhance the effectiveness of the educational process, and support faculty members and students, thereby contributing to the preparation of scientifically and professionally qualified graduates who meet the needs of society and the labor market.

  Goals and Responsibilities:

• Strategic Objectives:  
• Develop and update academic programs in alignment with national and international standards and labor market needs.
• Improve the quality of the educational process and enhance the effectiveness of learning outcomes.
• Strengthen the implementation of academic accreditation and quality assurance standards across all programs.
• Support and develop faculty members’ capabilities in teaching and assessment.
• Enhance the student academic experience by providing effective and supportive advising services.
• Employ modern technologies in teaching and learning to enrich the educational environment.
• Improve the efficiency of academic planning, scheduling, and teaching load management.
• Develop assessment and evaluation mechanisms to ensure the achievement of intended learning outcomes.
• Promote integration among academic departments to support the achievement of the college’s goals.

• Establish academic partnerships that contribute to program development and the exchange of expertise.

  Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Oversee admission, registration, transfer, and academic equivalency processes in coordination with relevant entities.
2. Coordinate with academic departments regarding class schedules, teaching load distribution, and examination timetables.
3. Monitor the progress of the educational process and ensure the regularity of classes and examinations.
4. Supervise academic advising and develop its programs to ensure effective student support and guidance toward success and excellence.
5. Review and develop study plans in alignment with quality requirements and academic accreditation standards.
6. Develop student activities and programs that contribute to building students’ character, enhancing their skills, and strengthening their sense of belonging to the college and university.
7. Oversee the preparation and review of course and program specifications and their periodic reports.
8. Support faculty members in their academic duties and provide the necessary facilitation for the success of the educational process.
9. Utilize technology and digital transformation in academic services to improve efficiency and facilitate services for students and faculty members.
10. Enhance communication and integration between the Vice Deanship, its various units, and academic departments to achieve shared goals.
11. Monitor academic indicators and submit periodic reports to the Deanship reflecting performance levels and challenges.
12. Examine students’ academic issues and propose appropriate solutions in coordination with relevant entities.
13. Supervise relevant academic committees.
14. Follow up on alumni affairs, facilitate graduation procedures, and oversee the issuance of academic documents.
15. Ensure the implementation of academic regulations and policies and compliance with them within the college.
